Families of the Israeli captives held in Gaza and activists have taken to the streets of Tel Aviv at the end of Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, demanding the release of the remaining captives.
The protesters also blocked the main highway in Tel Aviv, some chanting slogans against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and holding placards with photographs of their loves ones. A number of protesters were also arrested. The protesters blame Netanyahu for obstructing the ceasefire talks with Hamas, and the deaths of the captives. They are now further concerned over the regime's military escalation with the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah. They say Netanyahu sacrificed their loved ones for his personal and political gains. Around a-hundred Israeli captives are believed to be still in Gaza. Israelis have been holding rallies almost on a daily basis since the regime launched its war on Gaza in early October last year.
