The Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, has slammed as provocative the move by Israeli settlers to vandalize and start a fire in a mosque in the occupied West Bank.
Hamas said the move is a dangerous escalation of the desecration of Islamic sanctities. It said such attacks along with the settler incursions into the al-Aqsa Mosque show the fascist and savage nature of the Israeli regime. The movement called for a decisive response and vowed that the resistance will never remain silent in the face of such acts of sacrilege. Earlier, Israeli settlers entered the northern village of Marda and stormed the Bar al-Walidain Mosque. They wrote racist slogans on its walls and started a fire. Over the past year, the U-N has recorded nearly 15-hundred instances of settler violence in the occupied West Bank.
